Welcome Christine Lehman, our new Choir Director!
We are pleased to announce that Christine Lehman has begun serving as our choir director. Chris brings over twenty five years of experience in music education, training and performance, working with both children and adults. She has worked with young people in her roles as Assistant Artistic Director, Director of Capella and Musicianship Coordinator of the San Diego North Coast Singers. This group has performed with the San Diego and La Jolla Symphonies as well as on San Marcos Lutheran’s Concert Series.
Chris is an accomplished vocalist. She currently sings with the LaJolla Symphony Chorus. In past years she was the Symphony Chorus’ staff singer and soprano section leader. Chris is a frequent vocal performer in San Diego county. Her church employment as soloist, section leader, and adult choir director includes the Congregational Church of La Jolla and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito in Solana Beach. She gives lessons in voice and piano performance in her studio at Lake San Marcos.
Chris has studied choral conducting and vocal performance in San Diego county. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Music from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN, where she sang under the direction of Dale Warland. Chris also has a Master of Social Work degree from George Warren Brown School of Social Work, Washington University, St. Louis, MO.
Chris is a mother of two sons: Nathan who is a student at UC Berkeley and Jay who is in Junior High School. Welcome Chris!
