Confirmation is a rite of passage for our young people. After three years of study in grades 6 through 8, they are given the opportunity to stand before the congregation and affirm (confirm) their faith. The promises made by others at their baptism now become their own responsibility. At this juncture, these young people become voting members of the congregation.
The instruction is not only classroom time studying our faith but a time of service and fun. Confirmation students go on retreat to the Luther Glen camp (LRCC Camp Info) for one week in the summer and one weekend in the winter. They participate in the life and service of the congregation, especially the “God’s Work — Our Hands” project and other community based programs. Along the way, we gather for fun events as a reminder that our Christian faith is joyful.
If your child is in grades 6 through 8, we invite her or him to join us for confirmation. We currently meet on select Sunday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30. Please see the newsletter for those dates.
