Is the Church ADA compliant and welcoming of persons with a disability?

San Marcos Lutheran Church is fully ADA compliant with required restrooms and ramp access to all parts of the facility.  In the spring of 2017, the congregation renewed its commitment to including persons with a disability as we conducted a series of adult forums to raise awareness in the congregation.  We have hearing loop assist for hearing aid that are so equipped and auditory amplification headsets for those who request them.  Large Print bulletins are available. Should you require a gluten-free communion wafer just ask during holy communion.Back to the top

What happens during the worship service? Can I Take Holy Communion?

We have two worship styles: Traditional and Informal but both consist of some music, readings from the Bible, a message from one of the Pastors, prayers for the world and Holy Communion.

All people are welcome at our table for Holy Communion. Jesus words to the disciples so long ago include “all of you” and we reflect that invitation by Jesus.  Children should follow the Communion practices of their home church, if they have one. Back to the top

What should I wear?

100_0098We have no dress code at San Marcos Lutheran.

Wear whatever make YOU feel like you are comfortably worshiping your God.  On any given Sunday, you may find people in suits and their Sunday best seated next to a family in shorts and T-shirts.  We’ve had children wear their soccer clothes to Church so they could get to their game directly after worship.  Jesus accepts you just as you are — and so do we.  Back to the top

Will I have to stand up and talk in front of people I don’t know?20150319_183044

Certainly not.  We invite you to fill out a welcome card so that the pastors may include you in their private prayers during the week — but that is optional as well.

If you have a need to speak with one of the Pastors, we ask that you indicate so on the welcome card or if the need it urgent, speak with the usher at the door.  Back to the top

How much does it cost? to attend? for a baptism? wedding?

If you are visiting, you are our guest.  Please don’t feel obligated to donate.  Our regular attenders and members help contribute to the congregation, but there is no minimum donation requirement to participate or be a member.  God has blessed us all in different ways so we all respond monetarily in accordance with those blessings.

Baptisms are a free gift of the Holy Spirit for which there is no charge.  Please see our web page on Baptism for more information. HERE

Please see our web page on Weddings for more information. HERE
